From first launch to your first edit.

Start in the installed ShareCut Studio app. Try a short audio file while you get familiar with the editor.

1. Choose your speech model

   At first setup, choose a Whisper speech model and select Continue. The app then downloads the model. A smaller model saves disk space. The audio tools are bundled with the app.

2. Open a project

   Choose New project… to begin, or Open project… to return to an existing project on your computer.

3. Bring in your audio

   Choose Import audio… or drop an audio file on the arrange area. The shortcut is Command+I on Mac or Ctrl+I on Windows and Linux. Import requires an open project and permission to add media.

4. Listen and find your place

   Click the timeline or focus the transcript, then press Space to play or pause. Press K to stop playback. Press ? outside a text field to open Commands and shortcuts and see what is available.
