Host a room.
Invite your guests
Open your project and choose Record room…. Create a room, then choose Copy guest link and send the link to the people you want to record.
Run the recording
Check that your guests are ready, then start recording. The host controls start, pause, resume, and stop. With the record panel open, press M to add a marker as a timeline comment.
Save, then land the takes
After you stop, wait for each participant’s status to say Saved to project. Then use Land to place the saved takes on the timeline. Saved to project means the audio is saved, but it is not yet on the timeline.
Join as a recorded guest.
Open your invitation
Open the recording guest link in your browser and enter your display name. You do not need to install ShareCut Studio.
Check your microphone
Allow microphone access, choose and test your device, and confirm that you are wearing headphones. Complete the recording consent step. The room may also ask you to record room tone.
Stay until saving finishes
Wait for the host to start. Each recorded participant’s full-quality recording saves to the host’s project. Keep the tab open until saving completes.
Listen as a producer.
Use the separate producer link for the record room. A producer can hear the room and add notes, but is silent to the room and is not recorded. Producers appear under Not recorded and cannot start, pause, or stop the recording.
If something interrupts the session.
My microphone is blocked. What do I change?
Allow microphone access for the site in your browser settings, then choose Retry. If the operating system has blocked access, check its microphone privacy settings too.
The host disconnected. What happens to my audio?
Local capture and recovery can continue on your device, subject to browser storage and device availability. Keep the recording tab open and reconnect with the same link. Recovery is available for up to seven days, but an unfinished recording is not guaranteed to be recoverable.
How do I close a room?
As the host, wait for saving to finish, then use End room. To invite someone to review an existing edit, use a separate review link.
